This past season the hot trending flower was the lush and romantic Peony followed by its look alike, the fragrant garden rose. If I could sum up floral feel this past season and for 2015, in a word, it would be texture! Wider varieties of blooms and greens and unusual pods, vines, grasses, fruits and berries are trending. I am also seeing a return of bolder colors.
Eclectic combinations of vases were still hot but I see that fading a bit in 2015. A more traditional approach to the vessels, not just one per table, but not as many as the past two seasons. My current favorite trend for 2015 will be the “estate” approach to centerpieces. Garden-like but lush and reminiscent of vintage still life paintings.
Loose garden shapes have been holding strong for the bouquets as well as full color blooms for the bride and her maids. Very loose and garden-like will hold for 2015, but with super lush blooms and in unique shapes including the vintage “cascade”.
